Default 89 Notch build thread

I mostly creep on tech but I finally figure i'd show what i'm currently working on

Car is a 89 notch, bought it running for $1700 back in september with a carb'd 308 ford motor, GTP40 heads, E303 cam and a t5 tranny. Sold everything out of the car for $1200

the guy had a terrible primer paint job on it, but the car is virtually rust free. The only place i've fixed or found any rust is the shock towers (which is a place where all fox's rust.)

New headliner

AJE k member with motor mounts

Picked up a complete 4.8 with 70K miles on it from a junkyard.

Plans are LS6 cam, new springs and pushrods, LS9 head gaskets, ARP head studs, single front mount 70MM turbo off the truck manifolds with a TH400 behind it.
Hoping for around 550ish starting out at 13lbs on 93 pump. I'm trying to do this as budget oriented as possible.

Decided to fill the holes in the bay with fiberglass resin

my garage is a mess lol

glazing putty and primed

Got some goodies for the motor

Trans from a 1973 RV, rebuilt with bigger internals and a RV shift kit.

some more work on the lil 4.8

got it on the ground

And got the engine/trans in the car so the hotside can be fabbed up

89 Notch build thread-z4eenl.jpg

89 Notch build thread-x9korl.jpg

got my o3 performance turbo in the mail.. cant beat 300 bucks brand new and i havent heard too many bad things about them. 70MM with 1.00 A/R

And This is how the car is now.

The cars out at CBI in hillsboro MO for the next little while getting the hotside fabbed up by chad. I'll be posting more pics as progress comes along.

Fuel system plans are a single A1000 with -8 feed and -6 return, speedinc budget rails, 60LB injectors and a boost referenced fuel pressure regulator.

Going with the cheapie ebay stuff for the intercooler/piping. Tial 38mm wastegate and 50mm BOV.

PSI harness

circle D th400/ls1 converter

Haha. I'll also be doing all the body work and paint. I painted my 99LS1 after it was keyed in my driveway.. heres some pics. It also had the ugly ground FX

before

And finally wet sanded and done

But the plans for the notch are Titanium grey off the 2009 Nissan GT-R's

Very nice. I'm building an NA LS1 Notch currently. Nothing currently worth mentioning though. NA/cam/spray/M6. Just want a CHEAP fun street car. The engine is being built out of spare parts. LOL.

Got any before and after pics of the strut towers? I've got the same problem with mine....

Love the swap btw. I'm hoping to do a boosted 6.0 with a t56. You have any fitment issues with the K member?
