Default A couple lid/ air box questions

1. I believe that my car, being a '01, should have the AIR tube that goes into the air lid. This appears to just be shoved under the air box...

2. I bought the PPO Stealth air box, with this setup the air lid sits too far forward. Is it ok to make my own "smooth bellow" that would move the MAF closer to the throttle body?

3. I have heard about some people de-screening their MAF. I do not want to do this, however it appears that my MAF does not have a screen on it. Did a previous owner do this mod already?

If this doesn't make sense, I can get a few pictures.

Thanks for the help and any recommendations.

Yes, the AIR thing should go to your lid and yeah I've got my own little piece of hose connecting my throttle body and MAF and you can make your own smooth bellow but it really wont do anything if that answers your question.
