The big problem when it comes to losing weight off the GTO is most of the weight is in the sheetmetal itself....I just cut the rear floor/ frame/ wheel wells out of of my 04 and was shocked at how much the floor and sheetmetal framerails weighed....I'm sure this is the same for the front too. I've had the whole cradle and front suspension out of mine a few times and none of yhe parts them selves ate all that overly heavy, so that just leaves the body shell and sheetmetal framework.

How far do you want to go to lighten your car? I should be atleast another 100 lbs lighter after my 9" solid axle, 4link and back half swap!

I want to remove 300 pounds, even after the roll bars, but the great deal of goodness is added to a car when is made easy to work on, and have room around the engine, on my engine craddle, i made it with removable center brace, so i can remove it for bearing or any other inspection, with out having to lift the engine or lower the frame.
I have removed; the belly pan, will change seats for racing light weight pair, with the roll-bars can take out the gas tank brace/ gone is the hitch reciver, the drag pack does remove 77 pounds, another info i want is for lexan windows, anyone knows connection, pls post it, thanks.
I did get a big set back with the lsx block, as far as weight

Will you pls post some pix of the back of your car, i assume you have some wide tires and wheel set in there, i have always like to see more tire tours the inner side of the back of the gto, with some good size dich on the wheeels, thanks.
I had a reasonable suspition that the gross over weight in our cars, was due to the unitise body, itself..You confirm this..

I already had the wide body, but had to adjust the body roll for the new wheels and tires.....18" wide 15's, and for now 31-18.50 15's till I wear these tires down then going with 33-22.50 15's

Still need to cut and raise the tunnel and build the cage...main hoop should be here beginning of next week

Money shot!
