Racer's Lounge - Going to Hawaii....

Anyone have advice on things to do? I'll specifically be on Oahu, but if something is cool enough I'll island hop. I was already told to visit the Ferrari dealer, so that's on the list. I'll also be hiking, drinking and eating--so any of those sorts of things to suggest is appreciated.

How long will you be there? I went and stayed for two weeks. Island hopping was fun. Went to a volcano on Maui and visited the big island. You will have a blast. I did the pearl harbor tourist stuff early and took the rest of the time wandering. It's a great place.

I haven't been there yet, but I would defiantly try and go scuba/skin diving.

I was stationed there for almost six years. I don't know if I'd waste my time at the exotic dealership. It's cool to see the cars but, that is all you will be doing. No matter what you do tourists stick out like a sore thumb. Oahu has all kinds of great hiking. The hiking there is awesome. What time of the year do you plan on going? From now until like march you can see whales, if you're into that. Do yourself a favor and get a book called Oahu revealed it has all kinds of good info. From hiking places to eat to top hotels. They got those books for every island too btw. I went to the big island three times while I was there it was pretty nice. If you want to PM me once you figure out what you want to do and I'll let you know if it's worth your time.

Went there for 2 weeks after I graduated high school in 1995 (should have stayed and just went to college there...had a place to live).

I was lucky enough to go with a friend who's mom lived on Oahu (Mililani). We had a car to drive, so he pretty much drove us everywhere you could go on the island.

Just a few suggestions:

Nu'uanu Pali Lookout in Nu'uanu Pali State Park.

Pearl Harbor

Visit the famous North Shore beaches.

Go surfing.

Google "Hiking Oahu".

If you go next December, usually the waves down at north shore are crazy big. The Pali is nice but, there is a little hike right on the Pali site that's really nice too. Man I miss that place.
