Default What happen to my 4L60e ?

Well I went to Baytown last night and on my 3rd pass I heard a pop off the line. When I limped it down the track to get my time slip I notice I didn't have overdrive. I still have 1st,2nd, and 3rd but not overdrive. What do you guys think is wrong with my trans? Also it's a built trans from century

Yeah if I go through the gears manually but if I put it in overdrive it will just rev up

I had this happen once. I was told it was a broken sprag. I have no clue if it was true.

I had a similar problem recently. I had to keep driving it without OD due to it being my DD. (15 mile commute)

I ended up losing 3rd eventually then went for a rebuild. Sprag was destroyed and the 3-4 accumulator spring broke. Not sure which went first. Futher inspection showed a cracked valve body and destroyed clutches and bands.

Needed a full rebuild.

Good luck to ya bro!

Thanks for the input guys. The trans is pretty new so I know it's not normal wear. I'll be calling century tomorrow to see what they have to say

Lol

Be smart, already failed once. It's time to upgrade to a transmission that can hold. Normal busted up 4l60...
