The original owner of DEI #38 (Craig) suggested that there should be a seperate page for the original GMMG Owners.
What a great idea. If you are the original owner of any GMMG, please send photos, information & if you like a short write up about your car & I'll post it. I'm guessing there are very few original GMMG owners left.

Beautiful car Xsta and I'am sure you're proud of it. Not all GMMG cars were repainted though. What color was it when it left the factory?

Andy, that will always be one of my favorite f-body's.

I thought most of the repainted cars were originally black. That's what our JB Chrome Illusion car was originally. However, our Garnet Red DH car was originally red so I'm curious to see what it was originally.

If you don't mind Xsta can you post a pic of the interior? I love the way it looks along with the red calipers and SS emblems

The Berger SS's that got repainted started out as Ebony cars.
This is the only pic I can find of the inside right now . .

Yes the "design" of the inside and outside was all thoroughly thought out . . :)
Here he is in the paint stage:

Great pics and I'am assuming they are from the repaint at Berger. I'am also assuming they painted the door jams and posts, but how did they treat the trunk and spare tire storage areas?
Photos please.

Here's a photo of DH #18 (Green) during the paint process @ GMMG.
Door jams, trunks & engine area's were normally painted first.
As far as I know GMMG did most of the paint. It would be intersting to know how many cars Berger painted vs.GMMG
Berger has repainted cars for customers - not sure how many or what cars. Dick @ Berger may know?

I would also be curious to know how many cars GMMG painted compared to Berger.
Our Berger SS was painted by Berger. They painted all the jambs and applied new door jamb decals. They did a really good job. The only thing that’s the original black is the engine compartment.

Yes Those pics are from Bergers dealership . . Dennis Barker took them for me per request.
Other than the engine bay being black the car looks as if it were painted at the factory.
The spare tire well is primer grey with a fog of black paint and clear . . . they did nothing to it.

Barker left Berger quite a while back. Not trying to start any controversy but does anyone know why he left?

I take it they didn't remove the carpet and paint the floor?

Simply put, he was let go . . the rest is pure story / speculation / controversy . . . I think Matt Berger and Dennis are the ONLY ones who know the entire truthful story . . .
I take it they didn't remove the carpet and paint the floor?
No they did not take the interior out . . no point . . . even the inside of a factory painted car is not painted . . .

I know that my CETA is yellow and other LS cars I have owned were exterior color. Obviously not clear coated or anything
