Balancer keyway?

Balancer keyway? Long story short the shop putting my 383 LS1 shortblock together says my stock balancer does not fit the scat crank, and I need a keyed balancer. So how do I know which will fit?

the LS balancer is not keyed at all, they are torqued to a very high value. I dont believe you have to run a keyed balancer, I dont have one on My stroker, I believe that the aftermarket cranks put that keyway in there as an option for guys who want a keyed setup, but unless you are going a supercharged high PSI route, the factory setup will work just fine.
