Default Should I get my LS6 intake ported as well, is it worth the money?

So I'm having my heads ported to go along with my cam. What I don't know is if I should get my ls6 intake ported as well as my porter claims not necessarily peak hp numbers but says that under the the curve it's aprox. worth 25hp/18tq across the curve. I do have a ported tb as well so I don't know if I should have it ported or not. It seems tempting for 160.00 but I don't know what do ya'll think? I've already tried the search button and really didn't come up with much so that's why I post this thread.

A lot of different opinions on this subject, but I personally think that it's not worth it overall. Since the ls6 is a one-piece, it's very difficult to port. I would save the $160 and put it towards a fast if you really want to swap you intake, but your ls6 will be fine.

yea i would save that money, it will never be worth 25 hp/ 18 tq bc you wouldnt even get that kind of pick up even if you went with a fast 102 intake...spend it somewhere else..good luck

No, you can port the opening to 85mm and run a full 85mm intake tract but anything else isn't worth it

The only porting on an ls6 intake I see worth anything is a port match and possibly open the inlet up as stated to 85 mm. I wouldn't pay 160 for that tho. Wouldn't be worth any gains to justify buying the 85 mm tb and mass air sensor.

Leave the LS6 alone imo.

It will show some gains. And for around 200 bucks id say go for it. A used TB isn't much.

No no no...do not get an ls2 intake. Dispite the fact it has a 90 mm inlet, it flows worse than the ls6 intake. A decently ported ls2 intake flows on par with a stock ls6 intake.

Not the way to go.

Stick with your LS6 or pony up for the FAST.

Dont pay to have the intake ported and dont throw ur money away on a ls2 intake.
My 6.0 h/c made 495rwhp with a stock ls6 intake, more than adequate for ur setup as is
