Default Exhaust question

This might be a stupid question, but is an exhaust resonator different than a perforated muffler?

Vibrant resonator:

Dynomax bullet muffler:

It says the dynomax bullet is a glass wrapped perforated tube. And the vibrant resonator "Feature Vibrant's "True Straight Through" perforated core, surrounded by our premium sound absorption materials."

Are they one in the same? I want to weld one into my I-Pipe to decrease the exhaust levels some.

Yes these are the same it appears, just worded differently. Perforated tube is being used as a perforated core.

Reason I am asking is, I have a bullet at home. I was going to just weld that into the I-Pipe.

Would a chambered 'muffler' be a better option?

That design will restrict the exhaust. Stay with the bullet
