Can you run a carb'd c.o.p. LS1 using a 7531 box? Or is the only option the 6010? Trying to make the race car dual duty without too many changes.

I believe thats the digital 7 ignition. You can use that with a distributor, but if you want to use the coil packs, I believe the 6010 or 6012 is about your only choice. Mallory came out with a new iginiton recently, but I have yet to read weather its completely plug and play with the LS or not. Hope this helps, Eric L

Wait till you see what all it costs to convert an LS to a distributor. Its not cheap. Eric L

I priced everything a couple months ago ( :eek2: ) and I decided I would rather use that money to paint the car

No, I meant the ignition box (6010) isn't too expensive, not the conversion

You can buy a Victor Jr and the MSD 6010/6012 box seperate and still come out cheaper than what Edelbrock wants for the kit with their box

Yeah, and you get a better box as well. As the MSD box is programable. Eric L

I have a sale going on for the 6LS boxes right now. They are Programmable; much more features then the Edelbrock Box.

I'm definitely going to use the MSD as I'm already familiar with the tuning software using the Digital 7
