Small Block & Big Block Chevy Specific - 496/cam problems

Hello All,
Anyone know of interference issues when using a 496 rotating assembly (454 block) with a hydraulic cam? Working on a build up and am being told I need a "small base circle" cam. Does this sound right? Thanks for the help!

I dont think there is any interference issues with a 4.25 stroke crak in a BBC. We built a 489 for my wifes 71 Camaro with a .680 lift solid roller and it bolted together.
