Just now getting around to getting back on ls1tech. Been years, but finally got a motor to hold together, got a turbo that doesn't blow oil out seals, and a tune.

Got car tuned at RPM in DE around July.

93 oct.

681hp/668tq on 12psi on safe tune.

751hp/692tq. on accidental 14.5 setting.

What heads you got on it? the 317s aren't that bad stock, when you get them ported... man do they flow.

Trickflow fast as cast, with yella terra rockers.

317s are pretty good but I'm sure those are much better... What'd that do to the compression?

Not sure, been so long since the build ... this has been years in progress. VA speed long block. Wiseco-Manley with a turbo application dish. I believe these were the 220cc heads. Sorry for lack of detail but I said, build me a motor that wont die like the last 3 motors I had built (from different builders over the years), and they set me up what I have now.

Hah, it's all good man... good luck with this motor! Sounds like it's already off to a good start with those numbers @ 12psi.

Congrats on the #'s...

Why does it look like its taking so long to spool, doesn't look like it hit 14lbs until 5000 + rpm? What boost controller are you running or is this off the wastegate? What compression ratio?

Thanks

Also curious about this...exhaust or boost leak maybe?

Looks like some solid numbers for sure.

Nitroused what did you make at 10psi? I forget.

Awesome numbers! Sounds like you've been tinkering with it for quite a while, time to enjoy your work!

I made 717 on 11.5lbs never dyno'd it on 10.

What A/R is the turbine side of that GTS76?

What compression is this motor setup for?

+1. Also, any specs on that cam?

Below are the motor specs:
Custom Cam:

Trickflow fast as cast heads
Gm head gaskets
New gaskets and seals
ARP main bolts

Stock M6 transmission swap, with textera twin-disc clutch.
A1 Driveshaft
Strange 12-bolt, with 3.73 gears.

GM 2 bar map sensor, No MAF, Speed density tune, IAT sensor inline before the t-body
3.5” air-air FMIC with 3” intercooler piping, HKS SSQV bov
I have a Griffin 3-core race radiator custom mounted in the front, with a single pusher fan.
Stock water pump
No a/c
Stock LS6 intake manifold
Shortie aftermarket truck exhaust manifolds, into two-into-one 2.5” stainless up-pipes (heat wrapped), into turbo, out of turbo into 3” downpipe (heat wrapped), out to cat-less loudmouth exhaust. (Custom V-band setup allows one to remove cat-back and have dump after rear tire under car)

Getting some things done at RPM to wrap up loose ends. Want Fran to put in back on the dyno with a full run at 15 psi. :)

Not sure what wastegate spring they put in the car but they had tried a bunch of different springs. I think they had a 5 psi spring in at one point. It is boost controlled however HKS EVC5; I haven't tinkered with the boost controller however.

Ever figure out what the slow spool was about? I have seen twin 76 5.3 motors hit peak torque close to the same rpm and 6.0 T6 91mm turbos come in at around 4500 rpm. I would have expected a single on a 6.0 to come in somewhere around 3500-4000 rpm, not 5000+ rpm.

Don't hate! Allen. :D

I never really noticed an issue but I'll talk with Fran at RPM to see if they can put their 2 cents in on it. It may be a matter of adjusting the duty on the boost controller.

Don't get me wrong, those are solid peak numbers, but maybe an exhaust leak or something causing the slow spool? Leaky wastegate? Wastegate opening too soon? All possibilities.

Looks like it has to be something with the boost controller. On one of my dyno pulls I started at 3400 rpm and hit 15lbs by 4200 rpm on a 346 with no controller.
