Default 98 pcm and trying to run a 4l80e

As the title says I'm trying to run a 4l80e, but I ve been told that the 98 pcm can't control it. So if I have to switch to a 99+
pcm what all has to be done? Another option is to run the 80 with a fmvb, but how does the vss, and converter lockup work without the pcm?

You can run the 80E with the 60E tune and a couple relays to reverse the shift solenoid pattern. You can either buy this harness or build your own http://www.tunedbyfrost.com/products_dev1.htm
