I am and have been ready to spend many thousand dollars (not a few) at texas speed on my ss. The kid told me he would give me a quote the same day. after 2 days waiting I called again, waited on hold for 30 minutes and got a different guy who said he would finish the quote "today.". I called two other times and emailed twice more. After another week I finally called again and got my original guy. He responded with what was obviously a hastily written and incorrect quote not even covering what we had just verified again on the phone.

What the hell, how do they stay in business? I've probably talked to them for 2 hours but still have no correct quote. I have since had time to speak to several of their competitors and have correct detailed quotes from them on the same or similar products.

I would contact Fraser at AES. He always responds to emails most of the time even on sundays.

they are great people to talk to it's just hard to get a quote. the good thing is it's prevented me from making an impulse buy. I will check out your recommendations. thanks.

I've always had good service from TSP. I call them pretty regularly. They stay pretty busy maybe they have been covered up lately.

TSP had been great for years to me but the last time i called for info on a shortblock they basically said "quit asking questions, do you want it or not" and trust me i wasnt asking stupid questions.

Seems to me they move so much product that the customer service suffers, in which case they wont miss me anyway.

Hopefully Jon or Jason will chime in and make it right...hopefully, or they'll be losing a good chunk of profit.

I had a situation when I placed a order on the phone the first week of Dec and they said they would send me a tracking number when it shipped. I waited aprox 10 days and finally called and they said one of my parts was on back order and it should be in within a day or two. Well I waited the 2 days and finally called back and they said they was expecting them that day so I would need to wait till later. The next day I got a tracking number and it shows it will take 5 days to ship to cincy.
The whole point in the story is I felt they should have called me to notify me that they didnt have something in stock and I could have sourced it somewhere else or just had them ship me the parts they had and ship the back ordered item later.
I get 10 days off work for xmas and new years and had planned on doing the work during that time but my parts showed up on friday before new years and I return to work on monday so I got nothing done on my 10 days off work.

I to have had a issue with texas speed, I was going to be getting most everything I needed to finish my 418 build from them cause there prices seem to be better than most.

I called and the answer I got on pricing was check the website and order from there, also inquired about a military discount and I was told NO! they also seemed very rude to me on the phone and was like they were in a rush to get me off the phone and didnt want to deal with my questions they just wanted me to go to the website and find what I wanted and add it to the shopping cart and buy.

maybe the guy was having a bad day but it was so rude and unhelpful I didnt even bother to call back i was actually pretty shocked at the way i was treated over the phone. I am sure this dont happen often because of the good rep they had but that was my experience. I found my parts elsewhere and even spent more money elswhere because of how I was treated.

They seem to be geared more towards there website than actual phone orders.

Wow...I'm surprised at the customer service problems you've all experienced from TSP. Hmm

Ordering on a site is fine and dandy when you know exactly what you need, but when you really want something explained or you want some suggestions that would be best for what you need, from a "pro", it's nice to be able to ask the manufacturer directly.

Things like custom grind cams for the heads you have or want. There are all sorts of things that are better explained by a helpful and knowledgeable person.

Customer service is just as important as the product a company is trying to sell. It doesn't matter if you make the best heads or cams in the world, if the customer service blows and sales reps are rude, people will stop using that company.

I'm saying this in general for any company. I haven't dealt with TSP so I can't comment on their service.

well my biggest issue was I am deployed and I was having issues getting a new debit card out to me, so my question was could My mechanic order the parts for me and get a military discount and he said no I also asked about a paypal invoice and then it just seemed like he got annoyed with me because I was asking about payment options and pricing. I knew what I wanted.

That's just odd from them, to say the least. Hell, my wife talked to Matt & Aaron both for a few consecutive days for my anniversary gift(s) and had nothing but the highest amount of praise for the way they treated her.

I had a few bumps in the road with my TSP 1 7/8" headers and Spohn Solids and Aaron talked to me for at least a good 15 minutes wanting pictures and all sent so he could guide me / talk me through it the best he could.

Damn. I almost feel like I want to apologize FOR them, LOL.

Keep your head down over there and stay safe, brother.

I got the the run around from thunder, got tired of it. Gave Geoff at EPS a call and couldnt be happier. Super nice dude. Talked me through my cam selection and even answered all my noobish questions. Called him multiple times and had great service. Said he would ship my order out in a week to a week and a half and he did it in 5 days. With any engine stuff I will be a life long eps/geoff customer.

I didn't really want to start a "rip" TSP thread here. I just wanted them to know that they've invested a couple of man hours helping me to select parts and then choked at the 1 yd line and lost my order. . .Id love to have their parts but my time is too valuable to risk on what is very clearly overwhelmed sales staff that can't even get a quote together in 1.5 weeks.

Talk to John, he got my quote together very quickly and has always been helpful on the phone.

I posted a "wtb" ad on here a few weeks ago for some used CNC ported heads and Jason from TSP sent me a PM on 1-9-12 saying that they might have something in there scratch and dent section. So I replied back that I was interested and to let me know what they have. Well I didn't hear back so I called on 1-11-12 and was told they would have to look and they would call me back.I hadn't heard anything so I sent them an email on 1-13-12 asking if they heard anything yet, I got a response from Aaron who said he would check, well needless to say its a week later 1-20-12 and still haven't heard anything. I planned on ordering a set of new PRC CNC LS6 heads from them if nothing good used came up but now im not so sure, If this is how I get treated before they have my money whats it gonna be like after they get it???? I hate to bash anybody but im with the OP I just don't get why you have to fight with people to give them YOUR hard earned money these days. You can have the biggest fanciest shop in the world but sometimes its the small things that really matter like returning a PM, phone call or email.

I had the same problem with a quote I waited like 5 days or something like that and then was told to check the website for pricing when I wanted their recomendation. After I said something about the quote they sent it to me. Oh well Fraser got my money and I couldent be happier.

wasnt ripping TSP, however with big companys and lots of customers its impossible to make everyone happy plus the guy behind the phone is also human, they have good days and bad days. but there also growing as a company as well and hopefully there customer service is not suffering from this, ususally the bigger the company gets the less time they devote to individual customers

May be they should dedicate someone just for forums and internet sales, they are leaving a lot of money on the table. I always get good responsive customer service at Speed Inc.

TSP has GREAT customer service..every time I've called they answer(even if it took a few waiting minutes) everyone of my question even if it took an hr or two. They try to help you in every way they can and they also will help you get the correct parts you need for your build. Sometimes they are busier then other times. Like a few have said before try ordering your part off their website.

i have talked with tsp a bunch of times, questions, install help, etc, they have never been negative in any way what so ever, sometimes these shops do get busy, long hours, alot going on ,etc you just never know, op not trying to start an issue but imo it looks like you started a thread to kinda vent your feelings, im on tech alot and can tell you this isnt how tsp acts towards customers, is any shop perfect ,no . i just hope that they see this thread, which they will and realize how important the lil things are.they are great people over there, maybe there getting bigger and just dont have the staff yet to keep on top of things, that happens

You shouldn't be asking why? You answered your own question. They OBVIOUSLY DON'T want your business. I recommend Vengeance Racing. They made me feel comfortable about spending money on an uneasy decision.
FWIW-I've never had an issue with TSP, but a couple of buddies purchased motors from them and were not happy at all about the experience. And I had an issue last time dealing with Thunder Racing.

Although I have never ordered anything from them they seem to have always been really helpful to other members here, and friends that have ordered stuff from them. FWIW, I know they moved into a new shop recently. Not saying that's an excuse for poor service.

I'm glad I only live 20 minutes from WS6store though. Those guys are awesome to deal with. I have been ordering stuff from Speed Inc. lately as well, no issues.

I'm sorry you haven't received the quote you requested. We are busy, and running behind on basically everything, but that is no excuse for not getting you a quote as promised. Feel free to shoot me an email or call and we can handle it. PM's everyone gets behind on, unfortunately, because when these phones ring off the hook 9 hours a day we sometimes go days without being able to log in to the forums. It is always best to call or email. Everyone here keeps their email open in front of them all day and tries constantly to keep up on them between phone calls.

Then it seems you need to hire more staff. This is why I got fed up with the game.

Matt and I spoke offline today and I respect that he contacted me if nothing else. A lot of places would continue to ignore the problem. while I'm not sure it was enough to get this order, maybe I'll give them a shot for my 9".

Thanks for talking with in PM a bit. You should have received the quote from Jake earlier. If I can do anything for you on it, or anything else, let me know.
