Default WS6 Questions

I'm going to look at a 2002 T/A WS6 tomorrow morning, it has the hurst shifter, he said something about factory slp subframe connectors? Slp wheels? Anyone know if you could order a car this way? Would there be an RPO code to tell me anything? Any help on the special options for the 02 WS6 would be appreciated, kinda new to the ls1 thing! I have the VIN and access to all the RPO codes/build date, etc.

The 98-02 WS6 cars DID NOT go to SLP and there were NO SLP options available on them. ASC did the conversions on them. Yes it is possible that someone at one point installed subframe connectors and different wheels.

The VIN is useless and will only tell you that it is a V8 car, it needs to have the WS6 RPO code

The only actual factory option you list is the Hurst shifter. Otherwise, it's true was previously said that SLP had nothing to do with the 98-02 WS6.

The subframe connectors and wheels may have come from the "SLP factory," but definitely not from the "Firebird factory.

Good luck with your car search!

O.k., I work at a Chevrolet dealer so I pulled up the RPO list and it is a WS6 and does have the hurst shifter option so that part is good. The car does have a salvage title from an accident in 2004 at 25,000 miles, car has 80,000 on it now, any kind of problem areas or things I need to pay attention too aside from leaks and what not? Gonna be a driver so title doesnt matter to me much and the price is right, just don't want to miss anything obvious.

put it on a lift.... look for repairs. anyone in that shop should be able to see anything shitty... This guy at my wifes work bought a WS6 and a year later he took it in for some kind of service and the tech showed him where the car had literally been cut in half and put back together....had a clear clean title too.. showing NO accidents...
