Default Which Cat-Back?

Hey,

Yeah im still a newb, I got the car on Sunday and so far I have ordered an MTI Carbon Fiber lid, and K&N filter. I am thinking the next step is a cat back exhaust?

I was looking at the magnaflow and hookers but not sure which ones flow better... Does anyone havea n idea which ones are better flowing, not sound wise ( I like them both )

Thanks,
Josh

Between the Magnaflow and Hooker, I say Magnaflow. Be sure to shop around and do your research!

If you can afford to go for quality get a Borla. Do plenty of research and you will realize the differance. Don't rush into it and buy something just to have it right away and wish you waited a couple of weeks to get something else.

Borla

BORLA

It is adjustable and is stainless. Best quality and no need for a cutout. Plus when the plates are open you do not get that dumptruck sound that a cut-out provides.

I have heard/ridden in a car with all the exhausts mentioned and Borla definetaly gets my nod

Yeah Borla looks the best, but every Borla I've seen that's been mounted for at least a month becomes crooked. There aren't any mounting brackets near the tips so the normally the driver side tip becomes a little cockeyed and looks horrible. Corsa is great also, but they have reliability issues, many ls1tech'ers have had to send their's back to the factory for replacement. I'd stick with the Magnaflow, and please don't buy a Flowmaster, big waste of money.

Default TSP Rumbler..

You might consider the TSP Rumbler Cat-Back. It's well priced and most everyone speaks well of all their products & service.

Well ****, if were throwin out what exhaust to get and completely ignoring his first question about Hooker vs. Magnaflow, I say Loudmouth and if you have a **** load of cash get GMMG. Both are mean as hell.

If you aren't going to take out the catalytic converters or go with Long tubes, Id get a Loudmouth. can't be the flow and its not called a loudmouth for nothing. If you are looking for something more subtle at idle but wicked at WOT, hooker is freaking awesome at wide open throttle. Magnaflow i believe is similar but its not quite as loud at throttle but the tone is awesome. gmmg, corsa, borla etc. those are all very very good chioces if you have then 570+ bucks to shell out for it. If you got the money, hands down pick one of those. If you are trying to budget, you can pick up a hooker catback for under 300, magnaflow i think is in the 350 range, and the loudmouth can be purchased for right inbetween those two. Do a search in the For Sale section of this message board. You might be able to find all of these for sale for decent prices. Or check all out all of the sponsers on the right, look for deals and some of them post up on this site and you can PM them with questions.

LS1sounds.com ( a sticky at the top of the external engine forum) has all sorts of sound files for you to listen to. Just listen to as many as you can find out what you like and if someone has a ls1 powered car near you, see if you can hang out with a few of them and listen to their exhausts. Research and knowledge are key.
Best of luck!
Travis

Thats a good point, sorry about ignoring that first comparrison question, other than loving my SLP Loudmouth, i cant really say anything about Hooker or magnaflow, never experienced or researched them. Other than that, in the way of name i would go for the Hooker.
