Default anyone ever wrap truck manifolds?

I have my entire hotside off right now and was looking at my truck manifolds and considering wrapping them to make them look better and to help protect the spark plug wires and temps down...

Anyone done this? wouldn't mind seeing some pics...

Thanks
Matt

My entire system is wrapped and then painted with the high temp black sealer. Looks sharp I think.

Don't have pics although I personally wrapped a friend of mines before he had them nitro plated. They turned out great! IMO I say go for it! You won't regret it.

I wrapped them last night.. They are drying today and I will paint them tonight with silicone They turned out pretty decent but were a little more of a pain than regular long tubes... Either way they should serve their purpose!

Not perfect but looks better than rust and will hold heat!

I had a pack of the stainless ties in my tool box... however I am not very fond of them since I already had them I will use them....

I have seen guys use welding wire and make it look really nice!

The headers. I assume they are mild steel. The wrap holds the heat in and it will disintegrate the metal not designed for that amount of heat. There is a reason that the header companies void a warranty if they are wrapped. It will work short term though.

digging this thread out of the deep dark depths of ls1tech.

For the stock ls1 manifolds should i use 1 inch or 2 inch wide wrap? i think the 1 inch would be easier to pass between the tubes but correct me if im wrong.

How much wrap will i need PER SIDE, 1"x50'? 2"x50'

Ill be wrapping my whole exhaust back to the rear mount turbo so give me an idea of how much ill need

do you guys like the spray or should i just leave them uncoated?

i posted this in another thread im just trying to get some answers without starting a new thread
Thanks

I wrapped mine with DEI titanium wrap. Looks pretty awesome. I cut off the heat shield mounts before I wrapped them, made it much easier and nicer. I also painted them before I wrapped them, so that the flanges would look nicer.

I used 1"x~40' for each manifold. There is no way you could wrap 2" through there. 1" is already a pain, and you have to be deliberate when threaded through, because the wrap was wanting to fray and bunch... It took forever.
