Default 2003 Z06 full bolt ons vs 2011 5.0 full bolt ons

2003 Z06 - Cold air intake, headers, x-pipe, borla stingers, tune. 397rwhp/381rwtq

2011 5.0 (M6) - Cold air intake, headers, x-pipe, borla exhaust, 3.73 gears, tune. He ran a best of 12.18 @ 116 at the track a couple weeks ago. 410rwhp

1st race was from a 35 roll. I was a little ahead of him so I let him get the hit before I took off. I shut down right after I shifted into 4th. Camera guy was in his car, no one was in mine.

2nd race was from a 30 roll. Camera guy was in my car, no one in the 5.0. I shut down again right after I shifted into 4th.

These were really good races. Those new 5.0's are no joke. I would have liked to gone a little faster, maybe all the way through 4th. But we were on a pretty public road and I didn't want to go THAT fast.

Sorry for the shitty quality, they were taken on an iphone.

Not bad for the 5.0 at all but seemed like at higher speeds the Z06 would've pulled away. I really like the new 5.0's but id still take a C5Z anyday they just look and sound bad *** and 397rwhp from a full bolt on car and weighs about 3100-3200lbs is amazing.

Yeah, I was definitely surprised. I think if I would have stayed in it longer in 4th, I would have slowly walked. I started to in the 1st video at the very end. But if the race would have went any further he would have been shifting into 5th.

My next race is gonna be my buddy with a 2000 SS. He just did cam, headers, intake and he has 3.73's, M6. He dynoed 390/375. He and the mustang raced, but it was kind of fucked up. The mustang barely got him. I'll be sure to get another video.

Those new 5.0s are strong cars, but you clearly have the advantage.

Wow!

That second race was a solid 10 seconds from the seven second mark to the 17 second mark and looks like you may have got close to 120 mph.

Cant belieave it was that close. Wow the 5.0 really impressed me this time

Its only 8 years newer lol.

But the vette def has the weight advantage, whereas the mustang should have the technological advantage. Due to the newness ha

I had a 2002 Z06 with the same exact mods, making almost the same power. Best time I ran was 11.9 at 119. That is pretty impressive the 5.0 stayed with him like that. Ford did a great job on the new mustang for sure.

i took mine to the track the same day he did, but i smoked my clutch on the first run. so i didnt get a time. im confident its an 11 second car. my clutch held up on both runs the other day though, i didnt smell it.

Nice race, and nice numbers! 397RWHP for a very lightly modded LS6 is very good!

You apperantly. You've got some power left in that ls6. You should've just flat obliterated him.....check my sig. That's a production ls6. I ran a 5.0 last summer and did'nt hardly know he was there.
