Default I have a ? about a high mileage ls1

I found an LS1 that has 167K miles on it. If I were to bore and sleeve the engine, would it take that wear and tear out of the engine? I know that since there are so many miles on it it might not, but I was just wondering. I am getting the engine for around $800. There isn't anything wrong with it and it is from a company that claims that it runs. I was just wondering if I did re-sleeve it, would it make it run for another 167K miles?

Thanks,
Ray

thanks

the engine will slowly be converted into an LS6 but for now I am just wanting the rebuild the engine and make it like new since I will be putting it in my 1984 944.

i would think you are better off finding a lower mile engine rather then taking on the cost of the engine plus a rebuild.
