Hopefully some people will chime in on this, as I am curious too. Bob

I've about made my mind up that my first mod in 2012 will be the Aster bracket. The most boost I've been able to see with the stock procharger bracket was 12.5 and it's slipping the whole time. If I pullied down as much as I could what do you guys think the max boost I could see with my 408/F1A setup using Aster's bracket? I know there are several factors as to that but I was just thinking ballpark numbers. Car has an ls6 intake and stock 317's..

You should probably be seeing 15+ psi if its pullied all the way down. I see 18psi with my standard F1, Stg 3 LS6 heads and a LS6 manifold. On your larger CI you'd see a little less boost pressure but with the F1A you should see a little more CFM. What did she put down on 12.5psi? With my 370 on 13.7psi she made 706/641, 15psi was 780/760 and on 18 it was 826/726 (Clutch was done for)

With my old '99 Z28 we were running the stock J bracket with an F-1A on my 408, we were seeing 18 to 20 psi with the 7.65 crank pulley and a 3.90 blower pulley. We had terrible problems with belt slippage, had to tighten the belt after every run.
KP was running the SDCE bracket and with his F-1A he never had to even look at the blower belt. From what I have seen the Aster bracket gives the same "keep the hood shut" results. It will be interesting to see with the F-1R blowers if belt slip is a problem. Bob

I had Aster's bracket with a F1R head unit making around 940 rwhp and had nothing but belt problems. I kept breaking the 8 rib belt but I don't think that was a problem with Aster's bracket. I broke belts with the SDCE setup also. I feel I was exceeding the capability of the 8 rib belt. I never had belt problems when I had a F1A head unit. I finally went to a cog setup and no more belt problems.

Well I am like Speedracer, but I didn't have as much belt issues as him etc... I made 1035rwhp with the F1R. There still seems to be some slip at times, but for the most part it holds ok. I did go through a few belts at first, but after making some adjustments I didn't have an more issues. Overall review is as follows lol! I don't feel like it holds any more power than say the SDCE bracket setup I was running, but it is a lot better designed and the belt doesn't move around as much I am guessing because of the contact with more pullies etc... The belts still get worn and have to be replaced to keep the car at peak performance and ofcourse I'm talking about when pushing it with a large head unit such as an F1C or R. I am guessing because of the afore mentioned slip that still occurs sometimes when cold etc... The longest I ran the same belt was about 8months and I still have it and it looks ok, but you can tell its worn. And when I swapped to a new belt, it was a whole other animal again lol! I believe that it needed just a tad stronger tentioner and it would have probably fixed the minor slip that happens at cold times mainly etc... Aster(Chris) is a very cool guy and did an excellent job with the design of his bracket and customer service was second to none! Hope this helps some of you guys.
