Default LS3 In a 1963 NOVA?

First Timer poster long time Lurker.

I'm trying to piece together a good package for a LS swap.....nothing new.

Ive come across a great local deal which includes a low mileage LS3 with a 4l60E .

Ive read a bunch on LS9 and LS1 engines going inside these little guys. Anybody got any info on putting a LS3 in a Stock front end 2 door 1963 Nova?

Is it possible?

And NO I dont have a huge wallet.

Any Pics, Info would help greatly

Yup! ... it will fit. Lot's of guys over at Steves Nova Site have done or are doing LS transplants in stock front end cars. Your gonna spent some decent change just for the headers though .......

My next car will be a Nova and it will be getting an LS swap as well. Keep us in the loop on your build!

Chuck Church of Church Boys Racing is having the headers built and it looks as though they are about to be ready for the market, see here: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...ip-nova-2.html

I was thinking about going with the CCP Pro Touring Kit 3 for the First Gen Nova. Looks like some good stuff. Any thoughts?

Chuck.

Ive known about you guys for a while. I love the wagon build and watched it come together not to long ago.

What Wheels and tires do you got on that thing. Looks very good, You know the BS too?

I live in California and have been finding some guys here and there with some decent engines. Anyone on LS1 can recommend me a place, not trying to sell a million mile motor as "Hardly Broken In"????

I'm not sure what your budget is, but I bought a brand new LS6 crate engine from AAA foreign auto parts in San Fernando Valley. This guy's got everything you could imagine. I visited his shop and there is just crates upon crates of engines. I think 2 warehouses full. Hell, I wanted to buy two, but couldnt afford it. My brother almost bought a shelby GT500 motor at the time to put in his 65 mustang fastback, instead he settled for a 03' supercharged 4.6L cobra motor. The guy even popped a crate open to show us the new Nissan GTR motors. This was also in late 2010, but his business is crate engines. Enough of my rant... here's a link

Hey, thanks! Yeah, AG's not so bad either, love it out here. Anyway, feel free to ask plenty of questions, If I can't answer a question, there is always someone on here who can! TomM (above), 99sleeper, and chuck from CBR definitely know their nova stuff too. I'm borderline addicted to this site...

Looks good, but I would question the cam selection, looks like it is for top end power, not from idle........doesn't read like it's too well suited for street duty....
