Fastest in Practice @ Sebring in Speed World Challenge GT Race - We'll see how they perform DURING the actual race.

I think they want to (eventually) get an excemption from IMSA/ALMS to race SEDANS in GT class ALMS...now that would be interesting.

What happened to the GTO??? growing pains I guess! How does the Caddy beat the Corvette that has a few more years of development under it's belt? I'm looking forward to the GT race sunday more than the ALMS race Sat......

8 million dollars!
That was not a caddy. It was a 3000 lb, 600+HP racecar. Hmmmm, money can by you a race. Now a bunch of dumbass' can buy caddy's and think they're the fastest on the street.

LEO- Sorry to offend your ears with my crude language. I failed grade school and never learned proper etiquette. Probably why my parents abandoned me.
Any readers buying/driving a caddy, I do not mean to imply you are dumbass. (I actually like the CTS-V).
I was attempting (however poorly) to point out that the Caddy team loosly interpretted the rules (cheated?). C5R 6.0 Block, 6" ride height drop, pushed engine and firewall back several inches to improve weight ratio, widend the car, dumped weight to 3000#, 650 HP.
Expect a weight penalty from SCCA. Cadillac (GM) wanted to come out of the gate a guaranteed winner in order to market the stock car. Hmmm, cadillac is a sponsor. Just trying to put perspective on the caddy win $$$$$$$$.
Regards,
Your Dumbass Troll

SCCA let them do a lot of things that nobody else can do in the series. They are the most powerful car in WC GT and not restricted in the way the Z06's are.
They use a purpose built race motor, and the Corvettes are limited to basically a heads and cam LS6. They cant even choose what heads and cam they use.

Yes I definitely agree that the race car and the street car have basically nothing in common.

Its a Destroked LS7. we use a 2.00 intake valve with the C5s, they use a 2.2 ;)
Hewland dogbox, chopped body, and a lot of other stuff. They wont get away with it for ever :D

Atleast be happy they beat the Audis.
While they might have had the advantage, Vin Diesel said it best "Winnings, Winning." They did what need to be done to win. They spent alot of money. Did you know Audis cars are factory backed too? It just means their competitors will have to try harder. Plus the way Speed runs their races they will add weight and make them restrict their power output everytime they win to make it more even. I say good job to GM you found a loop hole and exploited it thats the American way.

There is no question that the Caddy Race car is a bit unfair vs. the competition. Andy Pilgrim proved that when he went from last (from stalling at the start of the race) and moved up all the way to second behind his teammate. The Caddy's were toying with the competition.
