My first question would be who built the motor and did the machine work, and where are the invoices proving it.
Id also ask what power level it saw and how it was used.
I just dont know I could buy a built motor and be 100% confident. Id rather buy a built shortblock from a vendor and go that route. That way you know exactly how it is and how the tune will be from the first startup.

Thank you guys for the advice. I agree I'm a little questionable about buying a built engine. The good thing is he does have all the receipts and its from a reputable shop that is close to my own shop. I did plan on having the machine shop check it out, make sure all is well and prob do a hone and new rings. Just seems like I can save a lot of parts hunting by buying a complete engine over a short block.
