Default Getting ready for cam

looking to buy a cam with my tax return, thinking about tsp ms3 since ive heard good things about it. Obviously i would need springs and pushrods, but is there anything else i really need to do the swap? oil pump? timing chain? Is all of that stuff optional or more or less necessary? Thanks for any advice in advance.

An LS2 chain can be had for like $40 bucks and uses your stock gears.
Most replace the pump depending on mileage and budget. I ported the stock
pump and shimmed the bypass spring for a bit more pressure but mine only
had 15 thousand miles on it.

My car is at 72k. Would a stock ls6 pump be good to swap in?

If you have the money I would upgrade the pump.

I did my swap at ~130k but have the ls6 pump already so I just left it alone and replaced the o-ring.

Im not positive about a regular ls6 pump, but i put in the ported and shimmed ls6 from TSP and havent had any issues with oil pressure. It was around 150 buckS. Well worth the money

why ms3? are you going to be doing an NA build with N20 or do you have future plans. your future goals need to be considered before your current ones. TSP has great cams. personally if i could do it again I would go with the brutespeed blower cam. that is one badass cam. and itll let you grow if you decide to add boost later on down the road. its a 115 591. 608 i do believe. sounds great too.
