Default 98 to 02 pcm swap

Looking to do the swap from my 98 pcm over to a 2002 while retaining my factory 98 harness. It is my understanding i can just compare the 2 years connectors at the pcm and be good to go. a lot of work, i understand but it fits my budget.

just looking for more advice from those that have done this before i take this on.

Any info is much appreciated, i did a search but only found vague info.

It's not as easy as repining the 98 harness to 2002 configuration. A lot more work is needed.
Your fuel gauge won't work unless you use the proper fuel segment in your 2002 tune.

There is a lot of information here, many guys have done it.

i have efi live and i have done duramax fuel tank swaps and restructured the fuel table to work accordingly. so, i assume this would be the same, since the issue lies in the different fuel tank size. unless i am wrong. which i am trying to find out what more there is besides the repinning of the connector.

based on my searches and reading i don't feel i have all of the info. i am attempting to gain more information in this thread.

i have found this - https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversio...swap-faqs.html

but nothing beyond that in relation to people documenting their conversion of 98 to 99+
