Default Suncoast Creations airbox + LS3... is it possible?

Not really sure where to ask this since it pertains to different areas of the forum, but... I'm soon going to be dropping an LS3 into my '02 TA. I just realized that I may run into a problem. I'm planning on running a 92mm TB, similar size MAF, etc... but, what happens when I get to the airbox? I have a Suncoast Creations WS6-style hood w/ the Suncoast Creations airbox that I know isn't anywhere close to 92mm.

Looks like this:

Any ideas?

If it won't work, any other ideas on something that might?

w/out increasing the hole on the backside of the airbox, wouldn't that cause a bottleneck?

You have 3 options, either plastic weld a bigger opening to the airbox, keep it and run a coupler to the MAF, or ditch it and buy a WS6 lower airbox and whatever lid you need for the MAF

I agree, a larger maf is not going to fit in that air box. And it doesn't look like an adapter of any sort would work because your running out of real estate between the maf and throttle body.

might as well ditch it and run a FTP lid, luckally my intake has a rubber coupling on it that can be stretchd a bit just set it out in the eat and it should streath right over the 85mm maf

It would still be a bottle neck with anything larger than a stock MAF

If the cone filters are large enough (they look it...looks like a lot of filter surface area) and they don't neck down to some small diameter, yeah, I think it'd be fine.

I tend to agree with others that much bigger than 90-92mm on a stockish bottom end is really not important...but I still want a 102mm intake on my LS3 lol.

IIRC, the LS3's come w/ a 90mm. I don't think anyone makes a DBC 90mm, but they do make a 92mm DBC for the LS3's.
