I was at the sand dunes on the 3 trip of the motor, and had a oil pressure issue, Has anyone else had a issue with a LY6 iron block 6.0

I purchased the motor from a wrecked van, motor had about 6000 miles, added a cam and that is about it,

This is the odd part,
so noticed that I would start the motor, and the oil pressure was about 50lbs most cases it is 70 when cold so 50 was odd, then when you would rev the motor it would drop to 25 and 20 on a load,

I am using a electric Auto Meter gage and royal purple filter and oil

so i pulled the pan and the bearing looked good, put the pan back on changed the oil and filter to a K&N, and added a gauge on the side of the pan, and it reads 50lbs at idle and 70 at a rev,

do you think it was the gauge and it corrected itself or maybe a bad filter?
