What mods do you have now?

2.73 rear I assume? (iirc 3.23 was an optional diff on a4 cars.)

Cam and good tune. Assuming you know what the hell you are doing behind the wheel. And not one of those ppl thinking that he who spins the tires the farthest wins. LOL j/kin

3.42s is a good start, cam, intake headers all also good.

may want consider a stall if it's not already done? Supposedly a stall and a tune can get a stock A4 car (even a 2.73 car) into the high 12s.

A small stall should do the trick. Actually it should have been your first mod.

I'm FAR from an expert on stalls.. but a 3800 sounds mighty tall for a fairly stock car. How big are you planning to go on the cam?

im just going to leave the one i have now its a mild cam so im probably gonna go for a 3200

Stall will make more difference than anything else you do to it.. The cam should match the rest of the combination. Dont just stick a "mild" cam in it.

Full bolt on's and a stall should be low 12's all day if not faster.

Wait on the cam and learn a little. Bolt on's should more than handle a stock 5.0.

I always thought bolt on LS1s were a drivers race with stock 5.0s?

Nope they should edge us out with the power difference

With full bolt ons I don't see you having any issue keeping up or even edging out a 5.0 as long as the 5.0 isnt a BARE Bones 6soeed with 3.73s and no options lol if that's the case he might edge you from a dig. Full bolt on and a stall and you should have no issue with a 5.0

i have raced alot of 5.0s , honest from what i have seen , bolt ons , cam ,stall, gears should get you going pretty strong.

My 02 A4 with pacesetters, 3200 circleD, 3.42s, lid and tune runs 12.7-8s all night at the track.

Another copy paste thread with copy paste answers lol jk. Just do your homework on here (as you've started) and don't spend until you really know the pros and cons of what you will end up with. bolt ons and stall will do it for sure but there are a few ways to skin a cat, and a few varieties of cat . Good luck!
