Southern Members - Alabama cruse... DATE/TIME/ROUTE set!!!!! (Update: 3 Feb 2012)

UPDATE:
Date/Time: 3 March 2012 @ 1000 CST

Location: Cafe Fiorenze, 100 Inverness Plaza, Birmingham Alabama 35242

Directions:
****From 280, turn West on Valleydale Rd, then take your 1st right. Cafe Fiorenze is right in front of you...

****From 65, take the Valleydale Rd Exit and go east (if you cross Hwy 31, turn around),
---Go until you see the CVS (10 miles or so)
---Turn LEFT at the CVS and Cafe Fiorenze will be right in front of you.
(If you hit 280, do a U turn at the 280/Valleydale intersection and make your 1st right.)

Cruse Route:
***leave the Cafe around 1100 and head to the Motorsports Hall of Fame at Talladega (~50 miles);
---Attend a tour of the Hall of Fame (I'm not sure how long it will take so I'm not gonna try to put a time on it);
***From Dega, go to Barber Motorsports Park (There is a private group that is running the track that day so we might get to see some racing!); ***Leave Barber around 6PM and the LAST stop will be Hooters on Hwy 280.

If you are going to Hooters, PLEASE let me know how many you are bringing so I can make a big reservation...

If you guys are going from Barbers to the 280 Hooters you should take State Hwy 25 out of Leeds at least to Shelby Co Hwy 55. It is not called the "Baby Dragon's Tail" for nothing.

Ran it many times with the car in my sig. After I sold it I bought a crewmax Tundra. It doesn't handle the curve near as well.

I go up Hwy25 all the time. There usually isn't much traffic. If you get a group of cars acting up the police do get called.

If I was working that day I could give you guys some margin within reason that day. The Porsche Club of Alabama hits 25 often from Barbers.

Just watch the vids I posted and try to find some of your own to get familiar with the road. That road is fun, but you should respect it. That train track crossing will take you by surprise. Several wrecks there from people catching air. Especially the motorcycles.

Ok, I've got the night off of work and in the process of getting the car cleaned up. But as the way things are looking is there a planned reschedule if the weather doesn't work out?
