Default Need some buidl advice... LQ9 vs LS6 with 243 heads...

So, long story short, while rebuild my LS6 race motor, we found the block to have a bad cylinder bore(out of round already bored to 3.905)

I JUST had my entire rotating assembly balanced, polished, new pistons. But have been having a heck of time trying to find a decently priced used Ls6 block in good shape...

I had planned to start building an LQ9 for next race season.

My 243 heads have stock valves were decked .020, new valve job, seals, etc

So, would prefer to reuse as much as I can, but time is also an issue, the race season is FAST approaching!

If I got an LQ9 could I reuse the 243 heads without issue? the cam is
226/230 .598”/.600” 111LSA +4 advance (with 1.7 ratio rockers). I could then work to build up another LQ9 reusing my LS6 rotating assembly(would have to sell my NEW diamond pistons, UGHHH, or just sell the entire rotating assembly and start over...

Any thoughts? Sorry for rambling!

Is there a reason you require the ls6 block? There isn't a huge difference between the ls6/ls1 blocks is there?

The motor is in a road race car, the newer LS6 (or even 2001+ LS1) have the better oil distribution than the earlier 98-2000 blocks...

All LS1 blocks from 2001+ are technically LS6 blocks.
