Default What kind of paint is this? (REALLY Shiny)

Since I'm in the market to get my dad's Z28 repainted black, I'm wondering what type of paint is the car painted with in this picture:

As you can see, it's REALLY shiny. I'm just curious if you need to have them paint your car with some special paint or something.

my car shines like that and the sides are original 1995 paint with a good buff job. the hood/front bumper have new paint along with the ground effects/roof/rear bumper but the doors, quarters, fenders, and hatch are stock 1995 paint.

No special paint, just gloss black with a clear coat it looks like. They did however take the time to polish (rotary/porter cable/flex with compounds) and wax the paint though. Does look good.

i don't remember what was used to buff it a few years ago, but i use meguiers swirl x and then go over it with some mothers wax. i usually reapply every 2-3 months when the swirls start to become more prevelant again. thanks for the compliment on the paint, yeah it still shines pretty good for 136k miles
