i have a 5.3 i put in an older truck i have everything working except fot the data link port i have power and ground to the proper places on the obd2 port and to all the pcm pins the pcm works in another vehicle and i can read the pcm from another vehicle just fine i have the serial data wire ran from the data link connector to pin 58 on the blue connector my question is do i need a resistor or something to run between the data link and the pcm thats what i have narrowed it down to that wire the wire oms out good im lost any help would be greatly appreciated

Do you have both grounds?

yes i have both grounds at pin 4 and 5 and power at pin 16 and the data wire at pin 2
