Default Reputable Transmission Shop (Houston)

I am pretty sure my syncro has gone out in my 03 Corvette Z06. If I start out in first it grinds going into other gears. If I start out in second everything is fine. Replaced fluid and it made it worse. Any reputable transmission shops? Not looking to make it all bullet proof, etc. Just a nice clean rebuild (maybe some upgraded parts) and install for a nice good price. I've been quoted $800 - $1000 just to remove the tranny which I find outrageous when its about a 2-3 hour job. I'd do it myself, but I don't have the time as its a daily driver and I need it for work. Thanks for reading.

It's a little more than a 2-3 hour job to r&r a T56 from a Vette for most people.

I meant to just drop the transmission. Not the whole job

We offer trans builds from just replacing what's worn out and broken all the way to 800ftlb monsters.

Corvettes are very labor intensive. Any trans shop will charge more than a LSx shop to r&r corvettes.

Its a big deal to pull the trans from a vette. The whole job is probably over $2000 to $2500 or more parts a labor to pull, rebuild and reinstall. The source knows his **** and I have to agree. Pull it yourself and let us know how much a pain it is. In case you were wondering, the trans is in the rear of the car, lol.

Mike... long time since I have been to the shop. Do you do they transmissions there or send them out? I would love to bring my new T/A over there to have you look at it.

I know you have to drop the whole rear end to get the transmission out. Just figured someone who does it on the daily should be able to get it in and out with a total time for at most 5 hours. Plus I just need the transmission out. Not the clutch or anything.
