I gauging the interest in a motor that I have coming available. I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 2500HD that has a lifter noise. Customer does not want to put any money into the existing engine and has asked me to install a new 6.0L for him. The truck currently has roughtly 230K on it. I have personally serviced this truck for the past 125K miles. Oil changes regularly with Mobil 1 5w30. Very well maintained. Engine runs perfectly fine. Smooth as ever, just getting some noise out of a lifter (Believed) We did an inspection of what we could see without getting too deep. Pulled the valve covers, timing cover, etc. No damage was found anywhere. No bent pushrods, no bad springs, chain had a little bit of slack but no enough to cause the noise in questions. NOT a bearings of any sort, no knocking at all, compression was good all across the board, etc. I will have the engine out of the truck by next week (at least thats the plan) and will be available by the end of next week. I do not plan on holding onto this engine very long because there is a core charge on this engine. If no one has purchased this engine from me within the next 2 weeks I will just send it back as a core. Im asking 1000 obo.
Shipping/pickup is available but will be purchasers responsibility to arrange I am very firm on the shipping rules. I was planning on keeping the motor for myself but my other half is not liking the thought of me building another engine to just have around the garage. I have too many as is.
