Default LS6 top end on LS1, pushrod length?

I have an opportunity to pick up a set of complete 243's, the cam and pushrods from a 2002 Z06 for a pretty sweet price. Obviously the heads & cam would be a nice upgrade for my stock LS1 w/853's but will I need to purchase different pushrods? I understand the base circle of the cam is smaller but I'm assuming (you know what happens here) the LS6 pushrod length will compensate. I'm also assuming these heads have the sodium filled valves since they're 02's.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Ls6 & Ls1 pushrods are the same length.

I'd think if all the parts from the cam to the heads are off the LS6, it should all bolt on with no issues as long as the head gaskets are the same too. Still would recommend checking the pushrod length to be sure.

Hmmm, guess that means the cam placement is different in the blocks?? Also means I'll have to spend some extra $$$$ on pushrods. Is there any way around this?

They are the same, No difference in pushrod or dimensions outer or inner (for all intensive purposes) you can use your stock GM pushrods. The base circle will only be different if you have had the cam reground in which case I would not be installing it anyways.

Dude, they're basically the same motor. Just the ZO6 has a better top end and cam. EVERYTHING swaps over. Don't over think this, and no the cam placement isn't different. It's right down the middle just like in an Ls1, 2,3,6,7,and 9

basically what everyone has already said lol. if you get the heads and cam the pushrods will be the same. the ls6 cam has a smaller base circle however the ls6 valves are .025 taller than the standard ls1 valves so basically if you get ls6 heads and valves then you are good with the stock pr's. if you get an ls6 came with standard 243's and regular valves you will need 7.425 pushrods

What about the head bolds, are they the same length? And should new ones be used?

Head bolts are torque to yield (one time use) and should be replaced......
Stock replacement bolts and GM MLS head gaskets can be had from Texas
Speed for a little over a hundred bucks.

I did, and I had my block decked to cleanup and my heads milled.

Runs great, slight amount of valvetrain noise but the car is quick.
