Default CHECK you new LS9 gaskets

I just wanted to give a heads up to anyone that recently purchase or just ordered some ls9 gasket to check and make sure you got the right gaskets.

I just got a pair of ls9 gaskets from my work(GM dealer) part number 12622033 to put un my new motor and open the packaging and found the gaskets in the packaging were not ls9 gaskets.

I just ordered another set today and should have them tomorrow so hopefully I get the correct ones then. I will update this tomorrow and let you know what I get but just double check whats in the package. LS9 gaskets will have the part number stamped on them. Pics can be seen in this thread

https://ls1tech.com/forums/forced-in...fo-inside.html

The gaskets that I got that has ls9 part numbers on the packaging were actually just regular 6.0 gaskets.

I am thankful that I caught it before putting the heads on the car.

Same thing happened to me when I ordered them from gm parts direct. Then they were complete ******** and gave me the runaround took 4weeks to get them to give me a partial refund. Note to self never order from a company that has no phone number and does all business over email

First thing I do with them is count the layers.
I've also gotten 6.2 gaskets with 6.0 parts#'s in the past from GM.
Their quality control on parts is getting worst.

Same thing happened to me. Got one wrong and one right from parts taxi. They made it right. I didn't want any more delays, so picked up one from a Houston dealership. That way, I could eye ball it before taking it home. Paid a little more. The bad ones are easy to spot even in the bag. Kinda sucks to have an engine open and be having to mail head gaskets back and forth.

Actually, problem was they were packed incorrectly from GM. Right part number, wrong part in the bag.

old motorhead - sorry again for the issue on your order. Glad it didn't hold you up too long though.

Thanks
Kevin

I new I had the right gasket because it gave me like 100 papercuts when I went to install it. Brake Clean verified each and every one.
