Default Heater box delete question

I figured I would ask this in this forum because many of you are not running AC. I want to delete the heater box but still want to keep my heat. Is it as simple as cutting the box flush with the firewall, then adding a block off plate with the holes cut out for the heater hoses and vaccum line? Or am I missing something?

Basicly search in the drag tech setcion there are a couple write ups on it. You will need to trim a little inside the bux inorder for the heat to still work

I just did mine. Used a drimmel as well, fiberglass dust everywhere lol. Cut it flush, notch it since you are now having to redirect the airflow. I cut up a old "no trespassing" sign for the tin as its what I laying around and pop riveted in place. There's a place on ebay that sells the panels cheap. You just gotta cut a hole in it for ur heater core lines.
Here's a pic.
