Default need computer help

hey guys, i bought a 97 vette with passenger side wrecked, the computer was ripped away from the car during the collision and nothing but wires exposed. the computer is located behind passenger front wheel. dont the 97 and 98 computers interchange? and what about 98 f bodys? any help is greatly appreciated.

its a totalled car thinking of making a race car, would any ls computer work?

The hardware is the same as 98 f-body, but the OS is different. You'll need to flash a corvette OS to have everything working.
However, those PCM's are very picky when you change OS, it's very easy to brick them.

99+ Fbody (98+ Corvette) are totally different.

I think the best way is to buy a Corvette PCM, or have it flashed by the dealer with a Tech2
