Default g5x3 cam and texas speed 5.3 heads. Good Combo?

I have a 98 LS1 with a G5X3 cam with 114 lobe seperation and .610" lift. I'm thinking about getting the Texas Speed 5.3 stage 2.5 heads with the 58cc combustion chamber (http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1172-pr...ted-heads.aspx). This is going to be a street car that gets driven on nice days in the summer and will see the track a few times. I want something that is still streetable.

With stock pistons I believe this will get me around 11:1 compression correct? These heads should be fine with pump gas right?

Also, I assume I will have to flycut my pistons with these heads?

Let me know your thoughts on getting the heads.

I believe you will have to flycut with that combo. Guy in town here did same combo, flycut, with Fast 92/92 and laid down 490/400+ so its a stout combo.

If you can give us cam specs we can give you a good idea about what will and will not clear with these heads!

Im not 100% sure on the specs but I believe it is somewhere around 238/242 and around .640 lift.

Never seen that much HP on budget heads before. Definately not the norm.

The x3 specs were on lg's web site. i believe it's a 595/609 or something. I had the cam and it was the best of all the x cams....and i had them ALL. LG makes great cams, but i think Pat G is able to make some killer cams to. I have had two of his..got one now.

In that link I posted, Brady (roadtrip120) is mentioned, he just finished another high hp 5.3 stg 2.5 build, but with a G5X4. These budget heads pack a punch if in the proper combo. Note the race gas but see the power for what it is. Here's mod list.

Seems to be a secrect for the specs on that cam, looks to be a 24x / 24x though. That's a stout and cheap setup for sure, less money in the heads and more cam. Don't H/C cars usually run between 27-30* of timing on pump gas?
