Default Anyone around dfw rebuild lt1 engines?

this one's getting up there in miles so i'm trying to get a quote so i know where to go for when the inevitable happens. might take it in before it pops so i don't get caught off guard. i would do it myself, but i have no garage to work in

Mark Shaner is still around? I remember him turning TBs in his front room of his house in Arlington ... damn that was a long time ago.

I had my LT1 rebuilt by Wayne Calvert in Denton.

Wayne has been doing motors for longer than almost everyone on here has been alive. He did my 383 and made great recommendations for valve work and internals. He won't beat around the bush about stuff either. Idk if he will pull your motor though. The shop right next to him may do that but I did mine myself.

Richard Painter did my CMC road race car motor for well under $2K a couple years back. Been running like a top ever since. He is off 183 in Euless.

That is right down the road for me. What did you have him build for you for that great price? Was that price for just machine work or parts and assembly as well?

That is good to know. I will look y'all up and contact this week. I am currently trying to decide on 355 or 383. It is all going to depend on what I can figure out for machining costs this week.
