Just heard Irwindale is closed, owner and tenant conflicts. Hopefully its not a permanent thing.

I think the keyword in the Headline is "Appears"! I have been told Lucas Oil is taking over the track. Who knows what the truth is til it's all said and done!

It's rumored tht Lucas oil will buy the track and put a dirt track inside the 1/2 mile oval but no one knows for sure.they are supposed to make an official announcement today. Very sad

There are so many rumors right now that no one truly knows what is going on. There are rumors as well as the track expanding to 3/4 mile to accommodate Nascar Truck Series etc.

Auto Club Speedway blows, and Perris is only a dirt track. Not to mention both are ridiculously far from LA for weekday night racing (traffic going in that direction is stopped all the way to PCH at rush hour).

I heard there is a non-disclosure agreement signed by all employees that is in effect til 5pm tonight. There are 3 parties involved in negotiations to take over operation and/or ownership of the track. Lucas Oil is one of them, the original people that put the plans in place and one other well known person!

All vendors have to have all of their equipment removed by today as well!

Autoclub Dragway (Fontana) is still in court trying to keep that track running, hopefully that will come this week or next.

Yeah Perris sucked lol.

From those I know with 10 second cars they said it was really scary at the shutdown at Perris. I had heard this from other people I don't know as well.

They should take down that sorry 1/2mi track and build a road course. Road course tuesdays and thursday drags..weekends too. Thatll be tight. Better than than driving 2hrs to Willow Springs.

Have you ever been there to watch the Sprint Cars on the half mile? It's probably one of the top 5 tracks in the country! Opening night is February 25th!

The rock quarry needs to close already and let Irwindale take the land over and extend to what it once was.

That can be solved. Thats what dump trucks are for. I'd be there every week if there was a road course but yeah, it would have to be way bigger than adams. Using the land covered by the 1/2mi track and a big chunk of the parking lot would help.

I used to go to Fontana, but between 1 million ricers on T&T days, and the 6:00am time you have to be there to avoid teching before 1 million Hondas, i have no intentions of going to that track anymore.

Irwindale became the natural choice, and being i could be there after office hours, made it perfect to have fun every Thursday night.

Wonder what the racing crowd would do ? Famoso perhaps ? i've never been there, but i just checked their schedule, Feb 18-19 test and tune, $50 car and driver, $15 to spectate ??? WTF is wrong with this people ?

that track SUCKED.. the only thing good there SOMETIMES was my 60ft times. other then that it SUCKED... the staff there we're as$holes to people. they were nice only when you paid them off at the tech area..

I can already see it happening....street racing jumping up 50%. Which means a lot of idiotic kids racing their little hondas with a bike rack, intake and exhaust. Most of which will be driving like idiots and pulling out of a street while two other cars are racing which will end up real bad. This will in turn attract attention from law enforcement who will then start cracking down hard on street racing.

It just sucks all the way around. What they need to do is build a 1/4 mile track in L.A. and be done with it.

Famoso is way out in the middle of bumfuck Egypt. It's not fast/convenient/cheap for people to get to, especially for people who trailer their cars. It's also not open at night, although I could be wrong.

I hear you on Fontana. I used to go on occasion, but now with Irwindale shut down, it's going to be a nightmare. I have gone to Barona once, nice track, cool people, but that's a two hour drive and Famoso is a three hour drive, damn maybe I should just sell the car, lol.

You go right ahead and keep wearing your tinfoil hat. The reason that this track was shut down is due to poor management decisions. Irwindale Speedway LLC filed for bankruptcy. They weren't paying their bills. A bunch of professional teams and leagues refused to race there because of the retarded rules set forth by track management. If you want to believe it's a conspiracy, then fine, but don't suggest it to any of us that know what really happened.

I say fuck it, I've only been to the dale a few times but as dangerous and immature as it sounds,I love that South LA street racing shit. It's usually pretty organized. It's just those stupid kids with their piece of shit Hondas that be killing it. There shit is usually never organized. I guess cause their cars make such little power they feel like they can't do any real damage(besides burning the spot) lame motherfuckers trying to live out there big dog dreams in there little dog cars. Fuck that. If you can't run with the big dogs stay on the porch.

Cali is killing it with smog laws, most people are afraid to mods cars and cant afford dedicated races cars
