Default MAF tunes vs SD

Just wondering how far you can go on the stock MAF with a forced induction setup?

Depends on the car and the MAF. You have two limitations, the MAF scale itself, and the frequency ceiling. Figure 550-600 on stock 75mm MAFs, 600-675 with the black 5 wire maf, and 650-800 on the 100mm MAF, given the 512 G/Sec limit and 12k Hz.

06+ pcms have a higher limit. Depending on application, some go as high as 2000 G/sec, and 15k Hz.

well i wondered the same thing and tried to tune my D1 ws6 for a $400 Pro-M MAF and it pegged immediately. everyone one here will say go SD and be done. Do not even waste your time. It will peg immediately. Generally it is said they start kinda flipping out around 500whp

My tuner told me not to worry about going to SD even on my new build which is a LS3 with a D1SC at 10psi. He said it will be fine, he has tuned multiple boosted LS cars over 800whp utilizing the MAF.
