Default Stainless steel sanding/polishing

What would be the best way to bring this to a polish?

Here's what one of our customers did to go from brushed to polished, you could probably skip some sanding steps: http://store.yoastfabrication.com/se...20to%20brushed

I'm glad you jumped in here. I was thinking a combination of belt sanding, and orbital sanding up to 1500 grit.

Where would recommend I start then? It looks pretty rough to me. I've only ever sanded softer metals up to a polish, never stainless.

Am I incorrect, or does that look alot like 409?

If it is 409.... polishing it (depending on your location) would be kinda worthless

I live in PA, but this is a summer only, fair weather car. It's always garaged, and never sees rain or snow. That being said, I'm all for easy too. If you're saying the polish is just going to brown, fade, and dull, I'd just as soon put exhaust paint on it.

well the easiest and long lasting would be to have it ceramic coating it...

but from what ive seen with 409 it fades and gets dull pretty quick

I only know of one place that does ceramic coating, and it's pretty far from me. I'll have to look around. It's not the kind of exhaust I could easily ship. I'd have to cut it up.
