Default Bring out your dead!

Just blew my motor. ZERO oil pressure and a death rattle from hell. One the bright side, it just Gtech's an 11.82 at 115mph no nitrous. Hell my nitrous isn't even hooked up. Launched on transbrake and it blew up right after I backed off from testing it. No burnout, and I short shifted into third. YEAH....******* CARS SUCK!!! Pretty sure it spun a bearing.

It only had 14,400 miles on the original block and internals. It died to young.

Well, guess I have my weekend covered for the rest of the summer. New heads and cam will be REAL easy to install with the motor out. And with a forged bottom end I can spray a 300 shot.

Guess my plans for a forged LS1 have been accelerated.

That must be on slicks, I went 12.42 @ 115 through stock exhaust manifolds with a stock motor in 26 degree weather a month ago on a 245 nitto on concrete. Of course, on my G-tech Pro (old one). It stuck pretty good, 4.06 0-60. Stock motor. STOCK MOTOR.

Sorry to hear about your engines early demise.

At least you can be chipper enough to use a Monty Python line.

Good luck on your rebuild and keep smiling or you may get attacked by a ba-na-na.

Yeah, on ET Streets, used my transbrake too. I have a full drag race suspension, and for the first time since I bought the car it dead hooked!! Call it a swan song for my motor. I'm still a little shocked on how fast that motor went south. It gave no warning, no tell tale ticks, or anything. One minute it has healthy compression, and oil pressure, and the next minute its limping back to my garage sounding like death in a tin can.
I just got this thing buttoned up from the transmission back to the rearend. I had my suspension set for kill, and I was just playing with it waiting for my new cam and heads. If you want to play, you have got to be ready to pay.

I think my oil pump failed. Bastard 98 LS1's are known for that.

I think that was part of my problem when my '98 blew up oct. 2002. that and the shitty rod bolts in the car.

I agree, Monty Python line was hilarious

Good luck, and hope it gets back on the road soon!

Monday I will start calling around about short blocks. I'm of two mindsets now.

1. Fast fix with a 347 CID short block so I can still be racing this summer.
2. Poo-Poo this racing year, and get a 408 stroker and stage 3 heads.

I'll be back.

AP has a hell of a deal on that short block. I'm also talking to Chuck Anders at HPE and Brian Rose at TSP.

My main focus is just to get the motor out, and broken down for cores. I want to move my coils off the valve covers for the new engine, and my headers are in serious need of sand blasting, and being ceramic coated by a professional. After that I need to sit down at the kitchen table, and put together my direct port nitrous system on the new LSX intake. Whenever my intake gets here.

FYI: Keith Craft has forged 347" shortblocks for $2799 without core.

Argh, sorry to hear of the premature demise of your motor.

Good luck getting things up and running...
