Ive got a 454 bored to 468 that we are running on alcohol in a pulling truck. It is currently set up with a carb. I have been trying to figure out the best route for fuel injection. So far it is a fully mechanical outside the ignition. Am trying to keep it as simple and preferably as cheap as I can. we are up around 1300hp. Any ideas?

Have you looked into MegaSquirt? Is it a Mark IV, Gen V, or Gen VI? If it's a Gen VI you can look into EFI Connection's 58x, other than that you can look into Big Stuff 3 (beware BS3 is a little pricey). Also, what kind of RPM are you pulling with it?

Honestly, Im not a big wiz on the 454 gens, my old man originally started with this engine in the 80's so its an older block design but nothing in or on the engine is factory. I have looked at the megasquirt a little but was a little leary about being able to get a kit together and working properly, the website just seemed a little vague. We are normally around 7500-8000 RPM kind of depends on the track.

Chances are it's a Mark IV, so that leaves EFI connection out. From what I understand, there are tons of resources out there the put a Megasquirt kit together, and it's just about limitless as to what you can do with it. Other than those companies I mentioned, I can't think of anything that would support 1300 hp (even the XFI can only go to 1000 hp). Maybe AEM?
