Hi guys ! Has anyone swapped a 5.3 or 6.0 into a 94 pickup -I'm trying to price things out and see if it is worth doing or should I sell the 94(which is in great shape) and buy a 2001-2004 Silverado.My truck has the turbo diesel (280k miles) which runs great and the 4L80 trans.I've read every article and book I've found on swaps and they are a little light on whether this can be done or not.It has 4WD.I specifically need to know what would be needed and an idea of cost.I could do the work myself and since Im retired I have the time. Since I dont work anymore it has to be on a social security budget. Lookin on e-bay engines seem to plentyful so thats not an issue

Man sell it. Someone will want the 6.5LTD truck especially if its a halfton, seen these sell for $5000 or more 4wd! The miles is really nothing on a diesel.

For one you will have to swap cluster as yours will have the diesel RPMs vs the gas ones. But it's a straight fwd swap.

Sell the 94 and use the money form it to buy a newer truck with a 5.3L/6.0L and use the money you would have used to mod the motor in it.

Swap a Cummins into it,just a matter of time before that 6.5 dies...If you are looking to go gas-just sell it and get the truck you want!
