Just got the notice today, I'm getting laid off in 2wks. I was last in and now first out, layoffs are starting to happen again. Econony taking another dive in CA.

I have over 12 yrs in electrical design of commercial/medical/educational buildings. Anyone hiring in an MEP or E office in OC, Phoenix or Vegas?

The architectural firm I'm stationed at just laid off 4 of their design staff due to lack of big projects for 2012. The educational funding cuts hit the educational/arts architecture field pretty hard.

Educational is taking a big hit here in CA, LACCD alone has a moratorium on any new construction.

thanks, I survived 2 layoffs at my last job and I left that one for the one I have now expecting that they were more stable but it did not turn out that way.


its been that way noticeably for the past 6 months, usually I hear about an opening every now and then but lately its been layoffs.
