what ls3 style heads are these?????
i bought some l92/ls3 heads from a local junkyard and they look like a hybrid ls3 style head it doesnt even have casting numbers on them! the combustion chamber is shaped like a 317 head, the exhaust port is way bigger than the l92 heads, intake port also a little bigger they come with sodium filled exhaust valves and hollow stem intake valves (part number is 12565312 EY and intake valve is 12569427 BA EY) heres a couple pictures.

If it's a hollow stem valve then they are LS3 heads, not L92 heads. There really isn't different versions of them. Some came with a cleaner casting then others but they're all the same. There should be casting numbers on them. Look at the corner of the head that is closer to the exhaust ports.

If you are referring to the intake guide posts, the L92's and LS3's have this same design. I have a head in my lap at this time and it unfortunately doesn't have long blonde hair... Being an LSA head would explain the nice valves, larger runners and open chambers. This would be a nice score depending on what he paid.

They are not LSA heads. Take a look at this link for detailed photos.

Are there freeze plugs in the ends of the heads? What do they look like where the casting number should be?

One other thing that I notice is the fact that the valve look like regular truck style (non hollow stem) valves. My LS3's have valves that look just like an aftermarket valve on the side seen in the photos. Fully machined and smooth. I think something is up here. If there was a photo taken under the valve covers as well as both end corners of the heads it might help. There should also be some numbers dot stencil marked on the exh. flange if I am not mistaken.

They have no cast numbers or stamped numbers its just a rough finish on the corners where the numbers usually are... What I do see where the rockers go is an OEM GM cast letters on top of the intake runner and on 2 more it has XX01 and 4473

Dang man, Is that your bathroom sink? I would be digging a size 5 shoe outta my hind end it I did that..
Man those are GM. Big question is what did they come out of??? I think they came out of a 06-07 Vortec MAX truck. 821 and 823's are not stamped like that inside. LY6 motor?
