Looks good except if he has built a few turbo kits you would think he would know how to properly mount a wastegate. That angle sucks.

Doesn't matter how it looks as long as it works.

When you can't control your boost you'll find out if the placement was good or not.

will work fine. and yes it does matter how it looks. anyone can put some manifolds on and put a kit together. not everyone can hand build a set of stainless one off headers without having the car and and have them fit and look good.

Good luck fixing cracks too.

If you say so.

As far as the looks department, your builder ran a whooptee woo pipe in a loop to make the merge. That doesn't look a little funny to you?

I don't think he meant any harm? The Wastegate placement is a poor angle. And with no bracing its most likely it would crack. Its a beautiful set up tho no doubt.

Its all good as long as you're happy with it. Even though you might think his kit sucks, it works. Your waste gate placement is like putting on an exhaust cutout backwards on a car. Will it let out exhaust gas? Yes. Will it work optimally? No.

after looking around, a whole lot of ppl weld on a 90 degree pipe that goes 90degree to the t4 flange. like the kit in this post

Its not that it wont work, just not ideal and if your building a kit from scratch like this one it could have been easily avoided. Can we not muck this thread up anymore and call it good?

The waste gate placement advice is te newest Internet fad. All these guys who never built a turbo kit in thier life, now think they know enough to offer knowledge to others on how to properly mount waste gates.

It will most likely work on a low boost setting ok but if you were to turn it up like above 18 psi is where you might run into boost control issues, but what do I know, I've just been fooling with turbos for 15 years.

i give credit to people who build there own stuff and respect it. i built this whole car myself, body, paint, everything! except for the turbo kit, and trans. i could have done it but i wouldnt have been happy with it in the end. and my friend could do it in half the time and look as good as the rest of the car. not building a racer, just a fun street car to have fun with. and yes i will sacrifice a litte power for looks. not hating manifolds i just think headers look way better especially in the older cars where u see EVERTHING unlike the new stuff thats all hidden
