Gen 5 Camaro External Bolt-On Tech - Stock Radio

Anyone know wut kind of radio comes in the stock 1SS? i know the the 2SS have the Bose system?

Actually the Bose system is not an option on the Camaro. It's a Boston Acoustics nine speaker system. It comes standard on the the 2LT & 2SS models. It is an available option on the 1LT & 1SS cars. I do not have it on mine and am pleased with the base system. I think it's like $495 option for this upgrade.

is there an upgraded stereo option for 2SSs?

The only "upgrade" is the Boston premium speaker sound system and it's standard on the 2LT & 2SS models. The head units are the same no matter what options are selected. I would assume the Boston system also adds a better amp. Scroll down almost to the bottom and it gives a brief description.

theres a dealer installed subwoofer box and amp that plugs into the harness in the trunk... 2 10" MTX speakers and a 200 watt amp i believe...

My car is a 2SS with the Boston Acoustics speakers. Sounds pretty good, but not great. It defintely needed more bass, I added the subthump harness and 12" sub and trunk box with 400w amp.

what kind of speakers does the 1ss come with? any sub?

was it hard to install that?

Not sure what speakers the 1SS comes with, maybe GM Delphi? The sub kits you can get from Subthump are easy to install. The harness they make allows a no splice or cutting wires install. The box matches the trunk carpet and you can pick what amp and sub you want. Maybe a two hour install taking your time.
